There’s a lot to be said for a warm welcome and a friendly service in any walk of life. At our practice we think that’s particularly important. Maybe you don’t particular enjoy having your eyes examined, or you’re worried that you’ve got some problems with your eyes… Don’t worry, just give us a call. We’ve got a lovely, relaxing practice in the heart of Southwell – and, even more importantly, a great team.
Role: Principal Optometrist
Andrew has a wealth of experience in all aspects of eyecare with special interests in contact lens fitting and the latest digital diagnostic equipment.
After 30 years working in Southwell, Andrew is a well-respected member of the community. Together with his wife, Barbara, he set up his independent practice in 2012. It was his chance to do things his way. To provide the highest level of eyecare to all. To make use of the finest available equipment. And to provide the most comfortable, and most relaxing environment for eyecare you’ve ever experienced.
Role: Dispensing Optician
Barbara has spent more years that she cares to remember working as a dispensing optician! But she was quickly tempted out of retirement by the opportunity to help Andrew set-up the practice.
Barbara still gets her buzz from her work, especially now that she gets the chance to spend more time with customers. (Andrew and Barbara have worked hard to ensure that customers get all the time they need.)
Barbara’s experience gives her the wonderful ability to find the right eye wear to suit everyone. And if you’ve ever spent time agonising over what frames to choose, you’ll know how reassuring that is.
Role: Senior receptionist
This is Angela’s first role within optics and she’s thoroughly enjoying the challenge. It’s not her first administrative role though. Angela comes with a wealth of experience and has really helped to get the practice up and running. It’s largely thanks to her that everything runs so smoothly.
The administration team is completed by Receptionists Debbie O’Connell and Claire Chakiri, who will welcome you to the practice on your arrival and look after you during your visit.
Adam has worked in the Nottinghamshire area for the past 25 years. As well as his role at the practice he works at a local eye hospital clinic. He’s also a clinical advisor for the local NHS area team (nee PCT).
As well as his considerable experience – and his great skill at working with children – he is one of a very small group of optometrists in the country who is an independent prescriber. That means he can prescribe medication to treat eye a wide range of eye conditions.
